Cardish ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Cardish digital networking platform at https://cardish.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including information used for SMS text messaging.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, job title, company, phone number, and profile details you provide when creating an account.
• Contact information: Names, phone numbers, email addresses, and job titles of contacts you add to the platform (e.g., by scanning a business card).
• Usage data: Information about how you use the platform, including messages sent, contacts added, and events created.
• Device information: Browser type, IP address, and general device information when you access the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and provide the Cardish platform and its features.
• Send SMS follow-up messages to contacts on behalf of registered users (see Section 4).
• Send transactional emails such as account verification and password resets.
• Improve the platform and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated marketing campaigns without your explicit consent.

3. SMS / Text Messaging

Cardish enables registered users to send personal follow-up SMS messages to individuals they have met in person. The following applies to all SMS communications sent through our platform:

• Consent: SMS messages are sent only to individuals who have provided their phone number voluntarily — typically by exchanging a business card or contact information at a networking event or meeting. By providing your phone number in this context, you acknowledge that you may receive a follow-up text message from that individual via Cardish.
• Message types: Personal follow-up messages such as introductions, contact card sharing, and meeting requests. We do not send bulk promotional broadcasts.
• Message frequency: Typically one to a few messages per contact relationship, initiated by the individual user.
• Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving messages from that sender. You will receive a single confirmation and no further messages will be sent.
• Help: Reply HELP for assistance or contact us at msg@cardish.io.
• Message & data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
• Carrier: SMS messages are delivered via Twilio. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio solely for message delivery and is not used for any other purpose.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Twilio: Phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio, Inc. to deliver SMS messages. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
• Service providers: We may use trusted third-party services for email delivery, hosting, and analytics. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and contact data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing msg@cardish.io. Contact records are deleted when the user who created them deletes their account.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL) and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP.

8. Children's Privacy

Cardish is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
